Arun, over the years, has carved a niche for himself in the world of percussion as one of the few drummers who does inter-disciplinary music. For the past 20 years, Arun has been sharing the stage with Indian classical music’s geniuses like Sangita Kalanidhi Dr. R K Srikantan, Sangita Kalanidhi Dr. M Balamuralikrishna, Sangita Kalanidhi A K C Natarajan, Maestro Vikku Vinayakram, Maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain, Dr. L Subramaniam, Ganakalshree M S Sheela, Ganesh Kumaresh, Nagraj Dr Manjunath, Mandolin Wizard U Rajesh, Tabla maestro Bickram Ghosh, Pandit Vijay Ghate,Khanjira maestro Selva Ganesh, Veena maestro Rajesh Vaidya and Stephan Devassy.
Arun has performed with international musicians such as Mike Stern, George Brooks, Ernie Watts & Hubert Laws.
He has been conferred the title Kanchi Asthana Vidwan from Sri Mutt, Kanchipuram and has been Awarded the Endorsment by the world renowned Cymbal Company ZILDJIAN and World Renowned sticks - Vic Firth
He has performed with the Legendary playback singers like Dr P B Srinivas, Dr Rajkumar, Dr S P Balasubramaniam, Dr K J Yesudas, S Janaki, Vani Jayaram, P Sushela, K S Chitra, Kavitha Krishnamurthy, Malgudi Shubha, Suresh Wadkar, Hariharan, Shankar Mahadevan, and Vijay Prakash Arun has also been active in the recording industry. Some of his recording projects are-‘Carnatic Chills’, ‘Colours of India’ Seasons with Ganesh Kumaresh. Punarnava- a fusion CD with Layatharanga. ‘Jhoola’ with Amit Heri.
Arun and Pallavi Arun have founded a Recording company; Samudra Records-where they produce creative projects together.
Arun is part of Musical reality show Vijay TV super singers as a guest drummer.
